Emilia Romagna’s Motor Valley Fest returns from 11-14 May 2023 for a celebration of Italy’s rich automotive and motor racing history. The four-day festival takes place in the heart of the northern Italian region’s “Motor Valley” – spread across the Unesco-city of Modena and surrounding areas – and will feature a wide range of activities, events and test drives. Highlights include the re-opening of the Automobili Lamborghini Museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese (Bologna), as well as live music, food and entertainment throughout.
Long regarded as the “Motor Valley” due to its important contribution to Italy’s motor industry, Emilia Romagna is home to celebrated names such as Ferrari, Maserati, Pagani, Dallara, Ducati and Lamborghini; there is no other place in the world with such a rich motor heritage. With 13 specialised museums and 18 private collections – including the Ferrari Museum in Maranello and the Ducati Museum in Bologna – visitors can look forward to experiencing the latest models from top Italian automotive brands and getting up close and personal with some of the most iconic cars in automotive history.
Notably, this year marks the 60th anniversary of Lamborghini and exclusive events will be taking place to celebrate the iconic brand. Those attending Motor Valley Fest will be able to visit the Automobili Lamborghini Museum, which has re-opened for the 60th anniversary after undergoing a major redesign and new layout. The museum has debuted a newly-created exhibition, The Future Began In 1963, retracing the most emblematic eras and representative moments that mark the history of Lamborghini’s first 60 years – which is sure to excite any lover of the brand.
First held in 2019, Motor Valley Fest promises to be bigger than ever before this year. In addition to the car displays, the festival will also feature a range of industry experts, who will be on hand to offer insights and knowledge about the latest developments in the world of automotive technology.
“Emilia Romagna’s Motor Valley Fest is a celebration of the rich heritage and exciting future of Italian automotive excellence,” said Claudio Domenicali, president of Motor Valley and CEO of Ducati. “We are thrilled to welcome visitors from all over the world to join us in this celebration, and we look forward to showcasing the very best of what the Italian automotive industry has to offer.”
Stefano Bonaccini, president of the Emilia Romagna region, added: “Since conception, year after year Motor Valley Fest continues to establish itself as an international reference point for the world of engines. This is confirmed by the ever-growing number of participants and visitors who attend each year. It is a lively event, which will address the decisive challenges facing the industry – such as environmental sustainability, the development of ecological high-performance engines, the use of new technologies, new research, the need to train specialised personnel and cross-reference them with the needs of companies, and attracting the best talent globally.”
Following the conclusion of Motor Valley Fest, the fourth edition of the Formula 1 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix will be held from 19-21 May 2023 at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari (Imola).
