The 2025 Vuelta a España, marking its 80th edition, is scheduled from 23 August to 14 September 2025. This year’s race commences with a historic Grand Départ in Turin, marking the first time the Vuelta starts in Italy. The 21-stage journey spans approximately 3,180 kilometres, traversing Italy, France, Andorra, and Spain, before culminating in Madrid.
The route is notably challenging, featuring 10 summit finishes that are expected to be decisive in the general classification. Among these, the ascent of the mythical Angliru stands out, symbolising the modern race’s difficulty. The race also includes a significant individual time trial in Valladolid, paying homage to the Vuelta’s inaugural finish in 1935.
