The Hero Dubai Desert Classic is one of the most prestigious events on the international golfing calendar. Celebrating its 36th edition, the DP World Tour event promises an exciting week of world-class golf, featuring top players from around the globe. The tournament will be held from 16-19 January 2025 at Emirates Golf Club in Dubai.
In 2024, Rory McIlroy clinched his fourth Dubai Desert Classic title by a narrow one-shot margin, finishing 14-under and maintaining his hold on the Dallah Trophy. With a $9m prize pool, the 2025 event will feature some of the world’s top golfers, including McIlroy, who will return to defend his title
Northern Irish golfer McIlroy said: “Dubai will always have a special significance for me. My first professional win was at the Dubai Desert Classic in 2009 and, after lifting the Dallah trophy for a fourth time in January, I look forward to returning. The support we receive in Dubai is always incredible and, with a busy season of sport ahead, I’m confident that the Hero Dubai Desert Classic 2025 will be a fan highlight.”
The Hero Dubai Desert Classic is the oldest golf competition in the Middle East. Established in 1989, the Desert Classic is a key fixture on the DP World Tour and a part of the esteemed Rolex Series, instrumental in introducing golf to the Middle East and producing some of the sport’s most memorable moments.
