Cricket: ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025

19 February - 9 March

The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 is set to take place from 19 February to 9 March 2025. Co-hosted by Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), this edition features eight top-ranked teams competing in a 15-match schedule over 19 days.

The participating teams are divided into two groups:

  • Group A: Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh
  • Group B: South Africa, Australia, Afghanistan, and England

Matches will be held across four venues:

  • Pakistan: National Stadium in Karachi, Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi
  • UAE: Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai

The tournament kicks off with hosts Pakistan facing New Zealand on February 19 in Karachi. A highlight of the group stage is the much-anticipated clash between arch-rivals Pakistan and India on February 23 in Dubai.

Due to political tensions, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has declined to send its team to Pakistan. Consequently, all of India’s matches, including potential semi-final and final appearances, will be played in Dubai. This decision ensures the safety of players and maintains the competitive integrity of the tournament.

The ICC Champions Trophy is renowned for its high-stakes format, where each match is crucial. This edition is particularly significant as it marks Pakistan’s first time hosting a major ICC event since the 1996 World Cup. The tournament promises thrilling cricketing action, with top teams vying for the prestigious title.
