Sport hotel in focus: Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone

Located at the iconic Silverstone Circuit in England, home of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, the Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone hotel opened its doors in summer 2023.

Offering unbeatable views of Silverstone’s International Pits start/finish straight, the 197-room Hilton Garden Inn is Silverstone’s first and only trackside hotel – and it’s open all year round, not just for major motor sport events held at the circuit.

The Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone is Hilton’s latest property connected to a sporting venue. In the UK, the brand also has the Hilton at the Ageas Bowl cricket ground in Southampton, the Hilton Garden Inn Manchester at Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground, and the Hilton Garden Inn at Doncaster Racecourse.

The facilities

Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone features a stunning rooftop bar, outdoor terrace, and restaurant. During race events, the hotel’s 75 rooms and suites facing the world-famous track can be transformed to hospitality suites for those looking to enjoy an incredible up-close view of events such as the F1 British GP and British MotoGP.

The hotel’s rooftop bar provides 360-degree views of the racetrack and Silverstone Heritage Track. Offering all day dining and drinks, the BOX Bar & Kitchen is located trackside and features both indoor and terrace viewing spaces. There is also a fitness centre for guests and on-site car parking.

Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone is ideally located near to the Silverstone Interactive Museum, and also local attractions such as the award-winning Silverstone Distillery, Silverstone Golf Club, and Bicester Village.

What the reviews said

This hotel is an “absolute paradise” for F1 fans, said Alex Goss in The Sun, and “you can’t get any closer to the action without racing boots and a helmet”. Offering uninterrupted sight lines as “racers scream around Club Corner”, the design of the hotel itself isn’t anything spectacular, but it’s being “so close to that hallowed tarmac” that gives this place “a real buzz”.

The “world’s first starting line hotel” is situated on the Hamilton Straight, said Turning Left for Less, and this gives guests an “unforgettable race weekend experience” with “ultra convenience”. Design elements such as the room key cards also neatly reflect Hilton’s long-standing partnership with the McLaren Racing team.
