The Big Half 2025 – London

Organised by London Marathon Events, The Big Half is London’s community half marathon. Taking place on Sunday 7 September 2025, it starts at Tower Bridge and finishes by the famous Cutty Sark in Greenwich. On the same day as The Big Half, the Big Mile and the New Balance Big Relay will also be held.  The course: the 13.1-mile route of The Big Half and the New Balance Big Relay starts on The Highway by Tower Bridge and finishes beside the Cutty Sark. Lord’s Cricket Ground: plans approved for Tavern and Allen stands redevelopment

Redevelopment plans for Lord’s Cricket Ground's Tavern and Allen stands have been approved by members of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and Westminster City Council's Planning Committee.  The £61.8m project, which was put to the MCC’s 18,000-strong membership at its AGM, will provide improved catering, hospitality and accessibility, as well as increasing the overall ground capacity by an additional 1,100 seats. MCC Members’ approval comes after Westminster City Council’s Planning Committee unanimously resolved to grant planning consent to the Tavern and Allen project at a meeting on 16 April.  MCC is now ready to enter the construction phase of the redevelopment, due to begin in late September, at the end of the cricket season. Harlequins rugby union: Big Game 15 at Twickenham

The “Big Game 15” will be held at Twickenham Stadium in London on Saturday 30 December 2023 with Harlequins hosting a men’s and women’s double header at the home of English rugby union.  In a Premiership Women’s Rugby fixture, Harlequins will take on Gloucester-Hartpury in the first match of the day (2.30pm GMT). American football returns to London in October with three regular-season NFL fixtures being held in the English capital. And to mark the 2023 London Games, a one-day fan event will take place at Battersea Power Station on Saturday 7 October, from 10am to 6pm. 2023 NFL International Games: teams confirmed for London and Frankfurt

The National Football League has announced the teams, dates and locations for the five International Games to be played in London, UK, and Frankfurt, Germany. The Jacksonville Jaguars will kick off the 2023 NFL International Games on Sunday 1 October against the Atlanta Falcons at Wembley Stadium, in what will be their landmark tenth regular season home game in London. The London focus then shifts to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as the Buffalo Bills take on the Jaguars on Sunday 8 October. 2023 TCS London Marathon

The TCS London Marathon will be held on the streets of the UK’s capital city on Sunday 23 April 2023. After three years being held in October, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the London Marathon returns to its traditional April date in 2023. Starting in Blackheath, Greenwich and finishing on The Mall, the London Marathon will see more than 40,000 runners take part in one of the city’s biggest annual events. The route will pass iconic London landmarks such as the Cutty Sark, The Shard, Canary Wharf, the London Eye, and the Houses of Parliament.   Race categories include elite wheelchair, elite women’s, elite men’s and the mass start. MLB London Series 2023: Cardinals vs. Cubs and Trafalgar Square Takeover

Major League Baseball (MLB) returns to London in June 2023 with St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs facing off for a two-game series in the UK’s capital city. Taking place at the baseball-configured London Stadium, the games will be held on 24 and 25 June.  When asked about the London Series, Cubs pitcher Marcus Stroman said: “Sick. Unreal.
