MLB Home Run Derby X London

Major League Baseball’s Home Run Derby X will be held in London’s Crystal Palace Park on Saturday 9 July 2022. The competition will feature four historic franchises: the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs. According to the MLB, each team will include a former player (Legend), a softball or women's baseball star (Superstar), a player from that region's local development system (Rookie), and an influential content creator (Wild Card).  A full day festival experience, the event will feature interactive baseball-inspired activities, ballpark food, fashion and gaming alongside four Home Run Derby X games. Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic 2024 at The Hurlingham Club

The Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic will return to The Hurlingham Club in Fulham, west London from 25-29 June 2024. The PDC World Darts Championship, the biggest event in darts, will be held at Alexandra Palace in London, England. Starting on Friday 15 December 2023, the event will conclude with the final on Wednesday 3 January 2024. The All England Club (AELTC) has confirmed that this year’s Wimbledon Championships are off.  London’s grand slam event has been cancelled due to the coronavirus crisis and tennis fans will have to wait until the summer of 2021 to watch the world’s best players compete on the grass courts in SW19.  The 134th Championships will instead be staged from 28 June to 11 July 2021. MLB London Series 2020 cancelled: St Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs matches are off

The 2020 Major League Baseball (MLB) London Series has been cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic.  St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs were scheduled to go head-to-head at the London Stadium in June but the two matches are now off.  MLB has confirmed that ticket holders will receive a full refund.  A statement said: “As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Mitel & MLB Present London Series 2020 has been cancelled.  “The decision has been taken in line with the UK Government’s actions stopping public gatherings and the need to focus emergency services resources on combating the pandemic.  “While we understand that this news is disappointing, we are faced with an unprecedented situation worldwide and nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our players, e...

British boxing star Anthony Joshua has confirmed a homecoming fight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London against Kubrat Pulev on Saturday 20 June. After bouts against Andy Ruiz Jr in New York and Saudi Arabia, champion Joshua will now defend his IBF, WBA, WBO and IBO world titles against Bulgaria's mandatory challenger.  The title fight, live on Sky Sports Box Office, is promoted by Matchroom Boxing in association with Top Rank and Epic Sports and Entertainment. The International Sports Convention (ISC) will be held for the first time in London in 2020.  Previous editions of the event have taken place in mainland Europe, but from Wednesday 17 June to Thursday 18 June the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium makes its debut as host venue. Hosting major US sporting fixtures has cemented London’s position as an international sports hub - and the perception of the UK has improved for fans who attended the events.   That’s according to a study published in October by online ticket company StubHub which looked at sales data ahead of the 2019 NFL London Games. This year London hosted the NBA regular-season match between the Washington Wizards and New York Knicks at The O2 in January. And for the first time baseball arrived on UK soil with the Boston Red Sox taking on rivals New York Yankees in two MLB matches at the London Stadium in June. London record hotel openings in 2020 will boost sports and MICE sectors

London’s MICE and sports event sectors will be boosted by a record 7,995 new hotel rooms opening across 65 new hotels in 2020.  Next year the UK capital will host seven matches in the Euro 2020 football championships, including both semi-finals and the final. And major sports business events to be held will include the International Sports Convention at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in June.  According to data published by STR, next year’s new hotel and room openings will be added to the 158,956 existing hotel rooms in the city.
