Holger Gassler is head of markets & events at the Tirol Tourist Board in Austria. He grew up in the Alpine village of Nassereith in the Tyrolean “Lake District”, right on the border to Bavaria. Travelling the world for Holger, continues to be a lifelong passion, in order to "learn about new cultures and gain new insights"; he has lived and worked in Chicago and Melbourne too. Originating from Austria’s sunshine state Carinthia, which borders with Italy and Slovenia, adventure sport is in her blood, as is football. As a season ticket holder at Arsenal FC, she plans vacations around the team's playing schedule and has travelled far and wide following the Gunners. Study reveals impact of Covid-19 on the UK snow sports and ski industry

A survey of UK snow sports and ski industry professionals has revealed the damage that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on their businesses. Published by Ski Press and Skipedia, the research was conducted online from 24-29 April 2020 and sectors represented include tour operators, travel agencies, retail, brands, ski slopes and media. As well as the impact of the coronavirus measures, the study looked at what the future might hold for the winter sports industry during the next 12 months.  Some of the key findings were:  82% of companies suffered reduced sales due to the premature end of the 2019-20 season, with two-thirds experiencing lower than usual sales for winter 2020-21 so far Almost one in five have made staff redundant and a quarter are concerned they could go out of business...

VIP SKI’s new home, Aspen House, will open its doors for the 2019-2020 winter season.   Five years in the planning, the property is located in the world-class ski resort of Val d’Isere, France. Aspen House offers an enviable location in the older part of town, minutes from the high street, and only a little more than 100m from the piste.   With only eight suites in this brand-new building, each of the apartments are designed with classic furnishings and a rich decor. The Telegraph Ski & Snowboard Festival returns to London in 2019 at Battersea Park. Taking place over four days from 24-27 October, the snow sports event features the UK’s largest real-snow open-air ski slope.  Tricks and stunts Held on “Mount Battersea”, which features real snow from The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead, competitions will see professionals show off their tricks, stunts and skills on the slope throughout the weekend.
