Aspen House: VIP SKI’s new property opens in Val d’Isere, France

VIP SKI’s new home, Aspen House, will open its doors for the 2019-2020 winter season.   Five years in the planning, the property is located in the world-class ski resort of Val d’Isere, France. Aspen House offers an enviable location in the older part of town, minutes from the high street, and only a little more than 100m from the piste.   With only eight suites in this brand-new building, each of the apartments are designed with classic furnishings and a rich decor. China’s winter sports industry boosted by Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics

The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games is having an immediate effect on China’s winter sports industry.  An International Olympic Committee (IOC) Coordination Commission meeting in July was told how there are plans to get 300 million Chinese people involved in winter sports. There has also been an increase in events and facilities.  According to information published by the IOC, by the end of 2018 there were 742 ski resorts and 596 ice rinks throughout the country, with more facilities being built every year.  During the 2018-2019 snow sports season, there were 4,401 district level, municipal and national level winter sports events in China, with 8.15 million people taking part.  The Beijing 2022 Organising Committee said there has been an overall growth of the winter spo...

Milan-Cortina awarded 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games

Milan-Cortina has been selected to host the 2026 Winter Olympic Games and Paralympic Winter Games. The Italian destination was confirmed for 2026 ahead of the other candidate bid from Stockholm-Åre in Sweden. The decision was taken during the 134th session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Lausanne, Switzerland on 24 June. IOC president Thomas Bach said: “Congratulations to Milan-Cortina.
