The Visit Morocco brand, under the Moroccan National Tourist Office, has been announced as the official tourism partner of golf’s Clutch Pro Tour.
Since its formation in 2019, the Clutch Pro Tour has grown into one of the leading development platforms in world golf, obtaining Official World Golf Ranking accreditation and becoming an official satellite tour to the European Tour’s HotelPlanner Tour and DP World Tour.
This season, as part of the inaugural International Series, the Clutch Pro Tour will deliver two flagship events in Morocco. Both tournaments in 2025 are to be staged at the Al Houara Golf Club in Tangier – ranked the fifth best course in Africa, and second in Morocco. As well as becoming the official tourism partner, Visit Morocco will also be the title partner the new “Morocco: Kingdom of Light Series”, a new feature on the Clutch Pro Tour schedule consisting of four signature UK events at four prestigious venues: Heythrop Park, Brocket Hall, South Staffs and Hever Castle.
Tom Hayward, Clutch Pro Tour CEO, said: “We’re pleased and incredibly proud to announce this partnership with Visit Morocco for the 2025 season. This partnership is one of many new agreements for the 2025 season, reflecting the growth and development of the tour product. To represent Morocco and The Kingdom of Light this year is something that the entire team is looking forward to, and we can’t wait for the partnership to get underway. We’re looking forward to visiting Morocco as part of our International Series, and we look forward to working closely with our new tourism partner and showcasing the incredible country of Morocco.”
With major championship winners and masterminds of golf course design such as Jack Nicklaus, Robert Trent Jones, Gary Player and Colin Montgomerie having all put their names to golf courses in Morocco, the North African nation is quickly becoming one of the world’s best places to play golf.
Meryem Bennouna, head of Visit Morocco UK, said: “Partnering with Clutch Pro will raise awareness of Morocco as a premier golf destination among golfers from the UK, Republic of Ireland, and beyond. With nearly 45 diverse golf courses – coastal, desert, and forest layouts – Morocco offers year-round sunshine and is just a short flight away. This series and wider partnership, spanning nearly 30 tournaments, will put Morocco on the radar of more golfers looking for their next destination.”
The growth of the tour – and its footprint in Morocco – comes as part of the long-term development strategy, with more events planned in Morocco, as well as a key new tournament in the UAE – the UAE Championship at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club. The developmental tour will also feature two stops in Oman – at La Vie Golf Club and Al Mouj Golf in Muscat – while the Tour Championship will be held at Al Hamra Golf Club in Ras Al Khaimah. The top three finishers on the season Order of Merit will gain HotelPlanner Tour cards for the 2026 season.
